Black Beauty is a novel by English author Anna Sewell written around 1877. The story is told in the first person and is a fictional autobiographical memoir told from the perspective of a horse named Black Beauty. The story follows this horse´s life, from his young days on an English farm with his mother, to the more dreadful years of pulling cabs in London, and ending with his happy retirement in the country. The book, at the time of its publication, somewhat inadvertently helped gain justice for mistreated animals (specifically horses) in the London cab industry, as well as to help those cab drivers combat unfair government regulations. It has sold over 50 million copies, making it one of the best-selling books of all time. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Jeff Harding. It’s been three long months since Chris’ little sister, Molly, disappeared from the riverbank. His parents are learning to accept the official verdict - death by drowning - and hope that 13-year-old Chris will soon do the same. Their family therapist believes that revisiting the tragic scene and reviewing the video of that fateful day will help. But something about that video is haunting Chris. Watching it for the first time since the fateful day he shot it - the picnic by the river, the hungry squirrel, and the the ice cream truck pulling into the parking lot through the trees - he comes to an awful realization. Against all odds, he and his best friend embark upon a desperate journey to prove an impossible hunch. Jeff Woodman’s skilled reading enhances the realism of characters whose reactions and situations are so immediate that they demand empathy. Listeners will be faced with the dilemma of wanting to know how the story ends, but, at the same time, not wanting it to end. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Jeff Woodman. Rebecca Musser grew up in fear, concealing her family´s polygamous lifestyle from the ´´dangerous´´ outside world. Covered head-to-toe in strict, modest clothing, she received a rigorous education at Alta Academy, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints´ school headed by Warren Jeffs. Always seeking to be an obedient Priesthood girl, in her teens she became the nineteenth wife of her people´s prophet: 85-year-old Rulon Jeffs, Warren´s father. Finally sickened by the abuse she suffered and saw around her, she pulled off a daring escape and sought to build a new life and family. The church, however, had a way of pulling her back in - and by 2007, Rebecca had no choice but to take the witness stand against the new prophet of the FLDS in order to protect her little sisters and other young girls from being forced to marry at shockingly young ages. The following year, Rebecca and the rest of the world watched as a team of Texas Rangers raided the Yearning for Zion Ranch, a stronghold of the FLDS. Rebecca´s subsequent testimony would reveal the horrific secrets taking place behind closed doors of the temple, sending their leaders to prison for years, and Warren Jeffs for life. The Witness Wore Red is a gripping account of one woman´s struggle to escape the perverse embrace of religious fanaticism and sexual slavery, and a courageous story of hope and transformation. ´´George Papadopoulos was the whole reason for the Trump Russia investigation.” (Rep. Mark Meadows, R - NC) Deep State Target is the only firsthand account that proves the attempted sabotage of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign by American and international intelligence services, from former Trump advisor George Papadopoulos - whose global network, clandestine meetings about Hillary Clinton’s hacked emails, and rift with former Attorney General Jeff Sessions made him the first target of Spygate, the Mueller Investigation, and the Russian Collusion Hoax. As a young, ambitious foreign policy advisor to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, Papadopoulos became the first Trump official to plead guilty in special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He is now the first campaign advisor sentenced and to have served time in prison. But as he explains in Deep State Target, there was an intricate set up at play, and it was neither Trump nor the Russians pulling the strings. American and allied intelligence services set out to destroy a Trump presidency before it even started. An energy policy consultant working for the insurgent campaign, Papadopoulos encountered a rogues’ gallery of infamous figures employed by agents from the US, Britain, and Australia. Here, he gives the play-by-play of how operatives like Professor Joseph Mifsud, Sergei Millian, Alexander Downer, and Stefan Halper worked to invent a Russian conspiracy that would irreparably damage the Trump administration. Papadopoulos was there: In secret meetings across the globe, on city streets being tailed by agents, watching Jeff Sessions make false statements under oath about a strategy session he attended, and ultimately being interrogated by Mueller’s team and agreeing to a guilty plea. Deep State Target is a shocking account of international spy games and a disturbing eyewitness report on a secr 1. Language: English. Narrator: Dan Bittner.
